MysticalDragon decided that after many years of the server being left in ruin and nothing being done with the wonderful content left there, it was time to move the server to a place it will be recognised. Graal was only very new at this moment in time and had only been on the iPhone for a few years. The current iPhone servers had player counts of over 1000 at certain times in the day.

EUROPA IS AN ABANDONED SERVER DUE TO THE ABSENCE OF THE OWNER

Europa is an upcoming Graal server led by Vinka. He has worked extremely hard to finally present this preview of his server.

Europa will be a server with graphics similar to servers such as Graal Kingdoms, including a painted tileset that Vinka has created. On the other hand, however, the gameplay will be similar to servers such as Graal Classic. If you are interested in viewing more information written by Vinka himself, you can scroll down to the bottom of this page and view an interview that was conducted with him.

==Getting Dropbox==
===What is Dropbox?===
Basically, Dropbox is similar to your own personal cloud. People can access your file storage online, and you can add, remove and edit files online with the Dropbox application for Mac, Windows and Linux. You get your own personal area on-line to add files for other people to view and download. It can be used for showing off work, backing up files or making quick links to downloads.

===Does it cost anything?===
Not when you first sign up. You automatically gain 2.5 GB of storage for your area on-line by default (that's more than enough) but you also have the choice to purchase more storage and can gain more by taking part in surveys and tasks on-line.

===Where can I sign up?===
You can sign up by going to http://www.dropbox.com Signing up only takes a few seconds.

==Backing Up==
===Step 1===
Ok so you have a Graal server you wish to back up, but don't want to go and save it all on a memory stick and end up losing the memory stick somewhere. The best bet for you is to back it up on-line. First you will need to download the dropbox client from http://www.dropbox.com and then let it set itself up. Manuals can be found on the site. When you've done that, navigate to your dropbox folder. You should see a group of folders. One saying Public and one saying Pictures. Having more than that doesn't matter but you should in default have 2 folders. Create a new folder with your server name. For instance, mine would be called GrimeCraft.

===Step 2===
Now you've got the client and have the folder ready, go into your new folder and start creating folders for items like levels, images, ganis, weapons, classes and whatever else you have. Now you've done that, open your RC, go into your folder browser and highlight all the files you want to download, for instance levels. Then drag all the levels files into your server level files you just created. Repeat this for all of the files until you've downloaded them all.

===Step 3===
If you want to, you can back up server options and folder config in text files. Just add 2 new text files to the dropbox folder for your server named Server_Ops and Folder_Conf. Copy and paste the contents of both into the correct files and save them. You've now got your server all backed up!

==Summary==

Babylon was a moderately successful [[Classic server|Classic]] [[Graal]] [[Playerworld|playerworld]], but it has now fallen into obscurity after going under construction. Babylon does not appear on either the Classic or [[Hosted server|Hosted tab]].

As of December, 2009, Matt, a long time Babylonian, has paid for Babylon to be put back online for development. Babylon has been continuing with their development at a decent pace, and plan to release more information when they reach a more stable point of development.

While Matt is technically the owner of Babylon, Grey still obtains his Manager position, along with Pandar as Asstistant Manager.

Since the development went underway, Babylon has vanished completely from Graal, and all that is left is a handful of memories and a lot of broken-hearted Graalians.

'''Maloria''''s roots goes back a long ways to the time of traditional [[Graal]]. The server was a moderately popular server pulling in a max player count of 40 to 50 per day and 120 at weekends. Maloria had a extremely large number of events, and had many advanced scripts for the time. Several changes in managers occurred, and then the server disappeared from the classic list. Not because it had gone under or anything, but because the staff were developing a new system. The new system completely redefined the traditional Graal style. Players started with 45 HP and 15 MP and through series of [[quests]] they could get 60 HP and 35 MP. There was a large [[overworld]], but they had cut many of the events from their past server. Through most of this phase, however, the server was not listed on the serverlist. After much development in this system, they began working on a system dubbed '''v2'''.

'''v2''' was a new system proposed by the staff that developed on the old system, that is not dubbed '''v1'''. The new system promised a leveling system and new items. Even different classes for players to pick. They picked a few lucky beta testers and after a while they were off. The new system was released in a public beta test. Players were told that this was temporary, and as soon as more development was done, a server reset would occur and the official version would begin. However, this never happened. The staff apparently lost interest in the idea and simply developed what they had.

Through forgotten pledges and broken promises, '''v2''' was never fully developed to the staff's original expectations. The server was left with a very unfinished feel to it. The classes the players were once promised, became unbalanced, favoring the fighter, simply because they developed the skills and weapons for the fighter before the scout and before the mage. Many staff moved on to work on their own Dev server, (actually owned by another person,) on a even more updated system called, as logically expected, '''v3'''.

Because of the lack of monitoring of staff activity and the actions of certain individuals, '''v2''' was left in shambles. Unfinished "new" systems were released publicly and never finished. Certain items were extremely overpowered and many new features released by developers were not properly tested for bugs which resulted in item duplicating glitches. With the combination of these three things and the release of another RPG server to the classic tab, [[Worlds/Zodiac|Zodiac]], Maloria's player count fell dramatically. The management team decided it best to reset the whole server. While this may have caused a temporary increase in player count, old glitches and poor coding eventually found their way into the veins of the server and its economy again and the player count fell once more.

Maloria has been long since moved from the Classic tag and has gone under development trying to make a comeback. Maloria is still going strong however, and expect to see some changed soon!

== Introduction ==
With the addition of the [[GScript|new scripting engine]], there are a number of new methods in which you can create output from an NPC. In this article, I will discuss a couple of ways.

== Useful Things To Know ==
If you've played with the new engine for a while, you're probably aware of the string concationation operators. If not, here they are.
<pre>String Concatenation a @ b
with space a SPC b
with newline a NL b
with tabulator a TAB b</pre>
What these operators do is join values together to form one value.

An example of using @ would be:
<pre>"Hello, " @ player.account</pre>
... which would produce "Hello, accountnamehere".

The SPC, NL and TAB operators work using the same principal - except that they insert a Space, New Line or Tab Space respectively.

If you don't put a space at the end of the first value or at the beginning of the second value when using @, you don't get a visible space, for example:
<pre>"Hello" @ "World"</pre>
... will produce "HelloWorld".

However! If you use SPC, you'll get a space in place of the operator:
<pre>"Hello" SPC "World"</pre>
... producing "Hello World".

You can use these operators just about anywhere that a variable is requested, i.e. setting a variable, or sending to a function.

== format() function ==
Or, if you aren't so interested in using the concationation operators, you can use the ''format()'' function.

What this function does, is that it takes a sort of template from the first parameter you give it, and replaces % codes with other parameters you give it.

Now, the template format primarily uses the following % characters:
<pre>%d %i - Integer
%f - Float (number with decimal)
%s - String
%c - Single character
%% - Literal "%" character
%x %X - Print an integer as a hexadecimal</pre>
There are more, since the function is made to be compatible with C's ''printf()'' function.

In the template, every % code will be replaced with the respective parameter.

Say you want to produce "Hello, '''Mr. Skyld'''. You ate '''4''' apples today!" using format(). First, your format would be this:
<pre>"Hello, %s. You ate %i apples today!"</pre>
... and you must not forget to give the parameters containing the values:
<pre>format("Hello, %s. You ate %i apples today!", "Mr. Skyld", 4);</pre>
You can give the format() functions as many parameters as necessary to build up your value. If you use a % code and a value isn't present for it, a 0 (zero) will appear in it's place.

== format2() function==
You can also use ''format2()'', which acts just like format() with the exception that instead of passing variables as separate parameters, they are sent as an array to the 2nd parameter.
The example above would become

Along with format2() came the indexing of the parameters. This method will work with both format() and format2() functions. It allows us to choose which parameter to place in which position in the format string. In the example, both parameters are strings, so it would be necessary to give them an index when trying to insert them in a different order than they were passed. Direct Output is sending an output directly to the game client, or to RC/NC. There are a number of functions for these tasks.

The echo() function will, on the serverside, send data to NC (by default), so RC users who have the NPC-Control right will see the message in RC chat, and on the clientside, sends the message to the F2 window. It expects one parameter, and that's the message you're sending. For example:

Use myVar.escape() if you want to print a string that might contain special characters like new-line which would not appear on RC-chat.

==== savestring() ====
savestring() is another object function, however, instead of loading the contents of a file, it writes the contents instead.

Consider this with the previous example:
<pre>myVar = "HELLO PLANET";
myVar.savestring("levels/file.txt", 0);</pre>
... would write "HELLO PLANET" to "levels/file.txt".

The second operator, which is 0 (zero) in that example, is the '''Append''' function, and decides whether the file should be overwritten with the new value, or whether the new value should be added onto the end of the file. If you specify '''1''', then the value will be appended, if not, it will overwrite the file.

==== savevars() ====
savevars() is an object function which saves the variables of an object into a file. Consider this example:
<pre>myVar = new TStaticVar(); // Create a TStaticVar
myVar.variable = "Hello";
myVar.secondvariable = "World";
myVar.saveVars("levels/test.txt", 0);</pre>
This will save the variables inside the "myVar" object into "levels/test.txt". You can then recall these variables using loadvars();

Like savelines(), the second parameter controls whether the variables are to be appended to the file. '''0''' will overwrite the file, and '''1''' will append to the file.

==== loadvars() ====
loadvars() is another object function which loads savevars()-style variables from a file into an object. Let's say you used the previous example from savevars(), then you could restore these values using the following:
<pre>myNewVar.loadvars("levels/test.txt");
echo(myNewVar.secondvariable);</pre>
... which will output "World".

=== Private Messages (PMs) ===
From the serverside, you can send PMs to players. They appear from the NPC-Server.

If you wanted to send a PM to the player "Skyld" (if the player is online), the you would use the following example:
<pre>findPlayer("Skyld").sendPM("This is a PM");</pre>
... and then the specified player (account), in this case Skyld, would receive the PM "This is a PM".

If you want to send a PM to the current player, you would simply use:
<pre>player.sendPM("This is a PM");</pre>
