[[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]] is a server specificity designed for compatibility with the iPhone. [[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]] can be accessed via a special version of the [[Mac]] [[Graal Client|Graal client]] only available for the iPhone. It was released on 19th of December 2012.

== Overview ==

[[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]] takes various aspects from [[Worlds/Era iPhone|Era iPhone]], [[Worlds/Shangrila|Shangri-la]], and [[Worlds/Zone|Zone]] to create a final standpoint. Your objective as a player is to advance through the ranks via Missions. Be aware, most missions will require a group (or a squad, as [[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]] players like to call it) to be able to successfully complete. It also offers a 360-degree projectile system, which allows for more widespread shooting and more accurate shooting than that of [[Worlds/Era iPhone|Era iPhone]]'s. Once the missions become a drag and are not granting enough currency, you can go ahead and head on over to the PK Arena to earn currency via killing other players with bounty on their head. [[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]] also features an extensive line of Planets and vehicles to venture around on.

== Technical Information ==
[[Worlds/Zone iPhone|Zone iPhone]], as well as all iPhone servers, runs a specially modified [[Mac]] [[Graal Client|Graal client]]. The client runs off the same engine as normal Graal clients and is able to execute [[Creation/Dev/GScript|GSscript2 code]]. This means that it is possible to develop content for both the iPhone client and the normal client at the same time using the same [[Creation/Dev/Tools|tools]] normally used for development, such as the [[Creation/Dev/Level editor|level editor]], [[Creation/Management/Remote Control|Remote Control]], and [[Creation/Dev/Gani|Graal Shop]].

GraalOnline Zone+ is now available on the App Store! It's taking some parts from PC Zone, some from Era iPhone, some from Shangri-La, and also introducing new things like missions and soon Squad PvP. Hope you have fun.

It can be possible to also connect the PC Graal version to this new server sometime, will have to improve the controls before that but the mouse shooting should work fine.

Hosted status is given to servers that are awaiting approval Classic status. The Playerworld Administration uses the Hosted status as a way to get players involved in determining whether or not the server will be effective if it is to be approved for Classic status. This will help Graal’s administration is determining whether or not a Hosted server is to be approved for Classic status.

1) The server pending approval from the Playerworld Administration for Hosted status must have the following: Quality content (graphics, levels, scripts, etc…)Some player entertainment (the intention is to bring players onto the server, thus it is necessary to have some playable content)
Having an established or the means of establishing a stable staff team
Have an original concept/storyline.

2) You must accept and follow the rules for Playerworlds outlined in (http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...ad.php?t=84379). If the server is approved, the server manager accepts and will enforce the rules outlined in that document. Failure to do so will result in immediate termination of Hosted status, and depending on the severity, further punishment may occur.
Hosted servers will be constantly reviewed by the Playerworld Administration. The Playerworld Administration will be looking for a constant flow of development and an active administration. All Graal servers are bound by a set of rules to ensure that players are kept in a safe and friendly environment. Servers which fail to keep to these rules may find themselves being punished, including the possible removal of their Classic/Hosted status or even being shut down completely.

* Managers are responsible for ensuring that their server follows the 'Rules for Classic and Hosted Servers', the '[http://www.graalonline.com/docs/agreement.php 'GraalOnline User Agreement 1]', and the [http://www.graalonline.com/accounts/rules.php 'GraalOnline User Agreement 2'] as well as the [http://www.graalonline.com/accounts/rules.php 'GraalOnline Acceptable Use Policy'.]
* Managers are responsible for all content available on their server, and should ensure that nothing is made available to players that breaks these rules.
* Managers are responsible for ensuring that their staff behave professionally and within the rules at all times.

Managers should be proactive in their role, and if they are found ignoring or not enforcing these rules, they may be forcefully removed from their position.

In addition to these rules, servers should outline any further rules specific to their server and make these easily available to players.

Files and Content

* No copyrighted material should be used on the server, and any content found to break copyright should be removed immediately.
* No content of a graphic or adult nature should be used on a server. All content should be age appropriate and not offensive in nature regardless of background.
* Any websites linked to on the server should be free from graphic or adult content.
* Servers which host their own radio stations should ensure that all sounds produced from the radio are suitable for all ages and do not feature any excessive swearing or graphic depictions.
* Servers should not steal content or ideas from other servers.
* With the exception of global content, all server-specific content (e.g. local levels, graphics and scripts) are to be used only on the server they were submitted to, unless it is permitted otherwise.
* Any player-centric content, such as head, shield and sword graphics, may be uploaded to multiple servers, but only with the express permission of the original artist.
* All files uploaded to a server immediately become the property of GraalOnline. Usage rights are granted to the server on which the files were uploaded. Consequently staff may not remove any of their work from the server upon quitting or otherwise leaving their position.
* All data held on GraalOnline servers is subject to loss or corruption at any time. It is the responsibility of the server staff to ensure that data is backed up adequately.
* Servers on the Classic (Playerworlds) list may not reset all of their users' account data without prior approval from the PWA.

Staff

* All staff should be aware of, and abide by, the 'Rules for Classic and Hosted Servers', the 'GraalOnline User Agreement', and the 'GraalOnline Acceptable Use Policy'.
* All staff positions should serve a genuine purpose. Honorary staff roles such as 'Founding Staff' or 'Original Creator' are not allowed.
* Staff positions should not be created for minor tasks such as uploading player graphics without special permission from the Playerworld Administration. These tasks should be handled by appropriate existing staff. For example, graphic uploading could be handled by the Graphics Team.
* Staff tags should clearly identify the role of the staff, and where appropriate, indicate if that staff member is a trainee or administrator.
* All staff tools should be created in a fashion that cannot be abused. For example, a tool to change offensive nicknames should simply set that player's nickname to their community name, rather than allowing for the staff to enter a new nickname.
* Staff should only be given access to the rights and tools required by their position. This includes access to RC. Before being given a right, staff should be trained in its usage.
* Staff should only use their rights and tools for the reasons required by their position. Any other use is considered abuse, even if it does not directly affect players in a negative way.
* All RC access should be restricted by IP or PCID to prevent unauthorised login.
* Only the staff positions Server Administrator and higher should be given full rights on RC. Please take note that full rights should be given sparingly.
* Write and delete file access should be restricted from staff as much as possible. Where relevant, staff should be given their own folder to work in rather than having write access to the main levels folder.
* Only the server Manager should have write access to server logs.
* All staff with RC access override players options to ignore mass messages. These staff should restrict their massing only to important server information.

Local Guilds

* Guild names should not impersonate any privilege or staff guild (such as 'Playerworld Administrator' or 'VIP').
* No local guild names should replicate any global guilds names.
* Guild names should not contain any offensive, copyrighted or threatening material.
* No guild should allow players to appear in the staff list if the guild is not an official position on the server.

System Abuse

* No scripts should allow one player to imitate another, for example by changing their nickname to '*Stefan'.
* Scripts should not interfere with any built in part of Graal, such as preventing the auto-disconnect for idling from working.
* Scripts should only identify players uniquely via their account name, nickname or community name. Any other attempt to track a player such as through their IP address, PCID or by planting corrupt files in their system could constitute a criminal offence. Servers are strictly forbidden from using any sort of method to store or retrieve the player's IP address or PCID with script.

'''Maloria''''s roots goes back a long ways to the time of traditional [[Graal]]. The server was a moderately popular server pulling in a max player count of 40 to 50 per day and 120 at weekends. Maloria had a extremely large number of events, and had many advanced scripts for the time. Several changes in managers occurred, and then the server disappeared from the classic list. Not because it had gone under or anything, but because the staff were developing a new system. The new system completely redefined the traditional Graal style. Players started with 45 HP and 15 MP and through series of [[quests]] they could get 60 HP and 35 MP. There was a large [[overworld]], but they had cut many of the events from their past server. Through most of this phase, however, the server was not listed on the serverlist. After much development in this system, they began working on a system dubbed '''v2'''.

'''v2''' was a new system proposed by the staff that developed on the old system, that is not dubbed '''v1'''. The new system promised a leveling system and new items. Even different classes for players to pick. They picked a few lucky beta testers and after a while they were off. The new system was released in a public beta test. Players were told that this was temporary, and as soon as more development was done, a server reset would occur and the official version would begin. However, this never happened. The staff apparently lost interest in the idea and simply developed what they had.

Through forgotten pledges and broken promises, '''v2''' was never fully developed to the staff's original expectations. The server was left with a very unfinished feel to it. The classes the players were once promised, became unbalanced, favoring the fighter, simply because they developed the skills and weapons for the fighter before the scout and before the mage. Many staff moved on to work on their own Dev server, (actually owned by another person,) on a even more updated system called, as logically expected, '''v3'''.

Because of the lack of monitoring of staff activity and the actions of certain individuals, '''v2''' was left in shambles. Unfinished "new" systems were released publicly and never finished. Certain items were extremely overpowered and many new features released by developers were not properly tested for bugs which resulted in item duplicating glitches. With the combination of these three things and the release of another RPG server to the classic tab, [[Worlds/Zodiac|Zodiac]], Maloria's player count fell dramatically. The management team decided it best to reset the whole server. While this may have caused a temporary increase in player count, old glitches and poor coding eventually found their way into the veins of the server and its economy again and the player count fell once more.

Maloria has been long since moved from the Classic tag and has gone under development trying to make a comeback. Maloria is still going strong however, and expect to see some changed soon!

N-Pulse was founded in 1998 by Geovanie Legend, It has had many great Admins and Managers such as Nightfall, Saga, MoonGod, Rai, Zido, Jadynx, and others.

On N-Pulse if you wish to get cash, there are some things you can do such as mining, PKing, fishing (for fish and sharks), selling event coins, and trading items.

On N-Pulse if you wish to get cash, there are some things you can do such as mining, PKing, fishing (for fish and sharks), selling event coins, and trading items.

I am just an ordinary person playing Graal, nothing super special.

I started Graal because I wanted to use the Graal Editor again. I have been using it since before 2003 or 2004 (I really couldn't pin-point a date xD). Upon going to the GraalOnline website, I found that you had to download it via the Game Client. I created an account and downloaded it, however before I even opened it I decided to check out a server. I got that far, why not go further, right? :p

I started out on Era, a trial burying my items to retain them before each log-out. Though a trial, I was able to get myself a Manager rank at a Player-Owned business the owner and I eventually named "Asianic Weaponry Foundation" which was located near the flower shop. The owner was a great person who protected my items rather than having me bury them all the time in exchange for my services. Since he never betrayed my trust, I put a lot of confidence in him.

I managed to pay for my account after a long while. During my time in the Player-Owned business, I met Jen (Eclectic, who later became a PR) and YenroY (YenroY777, who later became an LAT). They got me into Terisu Family, not before I tried to do so, myself, and got scammed for the first time out of $2000 to Celarion. Getting in came in the form of Israfel adding a bunch of random people ranking them "Zerg Pawn". Yenroy had recently gained rights to change ranks and nearing the end of the Zerg Pawn phase, he changed my rank to a low-level real Terisu Family rank. Israfel didn't notice for a while and when he did, we started talking. Turned out we lived nearby each other and we seemed to get along, so he kept me in...not before telling me I had to change my nickname, as I was using a seriously newbie style nickname. I ended up just using my account as my nickname because it looked cool to me to have a * randomly appear to the start of my nickname when I said setnick TSAdmin. I thought it was a bug at first :p

During a period of time where FAQ's were seriously lacking under the new FAQ Admin at the time, I decided to take it upon myself to tell people I would answer their questions as a non-FAQ. This brought some flak with it from the FAQ's. My main motivation was when I asked questions, the most active FAQ of my timezone was Malicious, who was only on in my timezone because he lives in the same country, as I found out later. His answer to everything I asked was "Yellow". I used to hang out with kinetaro and Skyld in a Gay Bar kinetaro had put together, along with Dro (drogankid). Smu had FAQ Admin by the time I got hired to the FAQ Team, and when he was perspectively the next manager, he gave up his roll and randomly warped to me asking if I would like to take the position. I accepted.

After a while as FAQ Admin, in my spare time I would make levels for fun, which essentially lead to me creating the FAQ Lounge that is still used today (March, 2009). Alec and CaramelDarkhaven hired me to the LAT team. They encouraged me to submit an application, along with the push of Israfel for me to try out.

From there it was upwards. From LAT I got GP rights (Ban, disconnect, etc), more and more rights came in as my productivity increased and abilities became enhanced by way of ability to script GS2 with the help of Andrew (xAndrewx). Lucky for him, I was a quick learner and it wasn't long before the main help I asked of him was "Is this correct?", "Will/Why won't this work?", and "Can it be improved in any way?". This lead me to become a strong Developer with the skills to do just about anything thrown at me. When all the managers before him had their chance, the roll was then passed onto Daz. While there was no manager, though, and the PWA had stepped in, I was named Administrator of the server. Upon Daz's dismissal, I was handed the roll by HoudiniMan, who unfortunately did not discuss it with me specifically by asking if I would take on the roll.

As manager of the server, I gave it all I could. With any management comes criticism, negative and positive, some more vocal than others, however it ended pretty well. I resigned my position and turned it over to my Administrator of the time, Icarus (xTcDiabloxTc). My reason for this was HoudiniMan had since posted an application for a position in the PWA to which I later found out I had been accepted.

I am still part of the PWA under the direction of Bell, HoudiniMan's replacement after he had left on personal reasons after just shy of 6 years. Annnnd that is my story, haha.

'''Maloria''''s roots goes back a long ways to the time of traditional [[Graal]]. The server was a moderately popular server pulling in a max player count of 40 to 50 per day and 120 at weekends. Maloria had a extremely large number of events, and had many advanced scripts for the time. Several changes in managers occurred, and then the server disappeared from the classic list. Not because it had gone under or anything, but because the staff were developing a new system. The new system completely redefined the traditional Graal style. Players started with 45 HP and 15 MP and through series of [[quests]] they could get 60 HP and 35 MP. There was a large [[overworld]], but they had cut many of the events from their past server. Through most of this phase, however, the server was not listed on the serverlist. After much development in this system, they began working on a system dubbed '''v2'''.

'''v2''' was a new system proposed by the staff that developed on the old system, that is not dubbed '''v1'''. The new system promised a leveling system and new items. Even different classes for players to pick. They picked a few lucky beta testers and after a while they were off. The new system was released in a public beta test. Players were told that this was temporary, and as soon as more development was done, a server reset would occur and the official version would begin. However, this never happened. The staff apparently lost interest in the idea and simply developed what they had.

Through forgotten pledges and broken promises, '''v2''' was never fully developed to the staff's original expectations. The server was left with a very unfinished feel to it. The classes the players were once promised, became unbalanced, favoring the fighter, simply because they developed the skills and weapons for the fighter before the scout and before the mage. Many staff moved on to work on their own Dev server, (actually owned by another person,) on a even more updated system called, as logically expected, '''v3'''.

Because of the lack of monitoring of staff activity and the actions of certain individuals, '''v2''' was left in shambles. Unfinished "new" systems were released publicly and never finished. Certain items were extremely overpowered and many new features released by developers were not properly tested for bugs which resulted in item duplicating glitches. With the combination of these three things and the release of another RPG server to the classic tab, [[Worlds/Zodiac|Zodiac]], Maloria's player count fell dramatically. The management team decided it best to reset the whole server. While this may have caused a temporary increase in player count, old glitches and poor coding eventually found their way into the veins of the server and its economy again and the player count fell once more.

Maloria has now been moved to the [[Hosted]] tab for the construction of '''v3''', and to show the GraalOnline community, what's in store. This new remake of the once classic world has a much more promising team of staff and some of the most advanced scripts to ever see [[Graal]]. Varia is a "Modified-Classic" Server, dealing with teamwork and saving the land from an antagonist that is just referred to as 'The Darkness'. Varia has a story line and for the first 8 Dungeons it's pretty linear but afterward the player will be able to somewhat develop they're own story. Storyline of Varia starts out as this.

==Storyline==

In the beginning, there was a solemn void, Soon out of this void, there was thunderous clash, Chaos and Darkness soon ensued the void. Many Millenias passed and the Chaos and Darkness seemed to be in a constant feud. Soon this would change.

A flash of knowledge and insight came upon the Chaos and it settled into our current universe. Order and peace came within the newly formed dimension.
Powers of the universe sire a son. This King of the Universe alone shall bring order to the remaining Darkness. Perilously he entered into the Dark Vortex. Deep into the heart of the battle he fought. Soon The Darkness Converged on him. As time passed, the Powers of the Universe feared him lost. The Darkness then vanished in a blinding flash of rage fury. The kings blood stained weapons were proof of his conquest. None know what happened in The Darkness, but the King was forever changed.

The Powers of The Universe seeing this as a time of peace and prosperity set forth galaxies across the universe. Stars, planets, and life soon formed. The king looked upon these creations with sadness and pity. He drew all of his strength together and separated himself from the Universe once and for all. All remained were his armor and weapons, only his powers were still enchanting his items. No other trace of himself did he leave.
His items were then separated onto several planets, were they were enshrined and are honored for his great deed he did before time itself.
Time passed and his shrines were desecrated, he was forgotten and left alone in the past. Nowadays many search for this shrine in hope of bestowing upon themselves The King's mighty power.

[[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] is a server that focuses on its adventure aspects and player interaction rather than having tiresome grinding or large role play elements. As Graal's oldest world, it has a lot of prestige, reputation and history amongst players, while its levels and content have and will continue to be closely built to the original Zelda-esque style.

As a Classic-subscription-enabled server, [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] is available to players with a Classic subscription despite its current Under Construction status, though Trial accounts will still have restrictions in-game.

History

===The Early Years===

[[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] was the first server to emerge on Graal, and as a result, has since gathered a strong reputation amongst oldbies.

For a long time, under Tyhm's management, the server slowly evolved with interesting new ideas such as 'races', where players gained attributes of their chosen race; for example, the Zorbi race could trap other players inside bubbles in order to escape a battle, though, in the end these races were removed after players complained of 'unfairness' between them.

As time passed, a storyline and cut scenes were integrated into the server, and the overworld was molded to fit more cleanly together, eventually shaping the [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] world into a series of islands. These changes were prompted by the influx of new players and the new ability to make mapped levels, which allowed players to see nearby levels as if they were part of one large area. To appease some of the older players who were unhappy with these changes, a quest was formed which took an early version of [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] and was placed into a 'museum'.

===The Middle Ages===

By mid-2003, Classic was brimming with content, with some 7000 levels on the server. While this was great for the players, especially those with a tendency to explore, Tyhm and his development team were finding it increasingly difficult to convert everything for the soon-to-launch NPC-Server technology, which was required of all servers.

In March 2004, due to other commitments, Tyhm left the management of Classic, and after a brief period of anarchy, Stefan stepped in, appointing a new manager, Master Storm, on the 7th of April. Storm made it his primary focus to get the NPC-Server released, as it was by now some many years overdue. Due to various circumstances, especially the difficulty with converting everything, Storm decided to instead rebuild Classic from scratch, focusing on getting compatibility with the NPC-Server at a core level, and expanding the server with content later.

===Post NPC-Server Classic===

On January 6th, 2005, the NPC-Server launched for [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]]. This came somewhat early in the development of Storm's “New [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]]”, but was pretty much forced, since support for old-style [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] GServer was being removed. It is fair to say that the server was rushed in order to meet this deadline, and that this has had large impact on quality. Not long after, GScript 2 was introduced, and this further delayed progress, as time had to be dedicated to meeting this new standard rather than to the creation of content.

Since the introduction of the NPC-Server, and up until the present day, [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] has been using custom systems for things such as movement and hit detection. While these have been designed to closely emulate the built-in systems of Graal, by using custom movement, many interesting opportunities arise. The custom movement also allows more subtle tweaks, such as allowing for a greater range of player movement speeds, and the ability to make various bug fixes.

More controversial was the rewritten hit detection. It initially was written to calculate the hit detection entirely serverside, as opposed to the clientside, which many were accustomed to. This choice to use serverside hit detection greatly improved security but had been controversial with the players, most notably the sparring and PKing fraternity, as they had had to adjust to the much different lag behavior. Consequently, this has since been changed to custom clientside hit detection.

This era of the server saw a massive expansion of the overworld, but it was to little avail, as there wasn't a great deal of progress made in terms of questing content which has historically provided the server with its identity. Unfortunately, the overworld was largely empty and provided little incentive for exploration. The custom systems, while a sound concept, suffered from a lack of organization and abstraction. As they grew in size from their initial rushed foundations, they had become difficult to work with, which slowed down the creation of new content.

In February 2009, Thor was promoted from his position of Development Administrator to co-manage the server with Master Storm due to his previous releases of questing content as well as reorganization of existing content. DarkCloud took direct control of Development in Thor's place, however, attempts to move forward with the server were, for various reasons, unsuccessful.

There remained a close-knit community from 2005 to 2009, these years largely occupied by interaction-based gameplay such as events, sparring, and guild activity. But gradually, as the older players left and fewer new players became interested in the server, by June 2009, the player count had dropped down to virtually nothing.

At this point, due to a very negative feeling surrounding the server, DarkCloud decided to step down from his position as Development Administrator, leaving the server management a major decision to be made as to which direction the server should take.

===Classic's Redevelopment===

Master Storm and Thor were both in agreement that the best route to take regarding the server would be to remove the existing content and repeat the process of remaking it from the ground up. However, this time the reconstruction would be carried out as a hidden server to focus on development and be fully prepared for maintaining a high player count in future, rather than get distracted by the politics that staff had previously been engulfed by, or by keeping existing players occupied.

Planning and preparations commenced and eventually the wipe was completed on the 31st July 2009. At this point, although the server was hidden, it was to remain publicly accessible for old or interested players to see the work in progress. While the new custom systems were being developed, the players were using the built-in Graal systems to give the development team the time to build the custom system with more care and organization. The new systems were implemented as early as October, which was considerably quicker than the previous systems had taken to make between 2005 and 2006. It was within this time that the decision was made for Master Storm to step down as the server's manager, leaving the responsibility lying solely in Thor's hands. However, Master Storm continued to help with the system and networking side of development.

While things such as quest resources, storyline planning and further system construction were being worked on, a new-and-improved spar arena for visitors to enjoy was released, and was soon followed by the construction of a “team events system” with the ambitious goal of handling, rapidly remaking, and improving all future team-based events such as Capture The Flag and Battlegrounds.

It wasn't until August 2010 that [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] saw the release of its starter content, which had the purpose of acting like a tutorial to new players, but in a more enjoyable fashion and integrated into the storyline, as opposed to isolating them from the overworld and other players, as had been felt in previous versions of the server.

[[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] is a server that focuses on its adventure aspects and player interaction rather than having tiresome grinding or large role play elements. As Graal's oldest world, it has a lot of prestige, reputation and history amongst players, while its levels and content have and will continue to be be closely built to the original Zelda-esque style.

As a Classic-subscription-enabled server, [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] is available to players with a Classic subscription despite its current Under Construction status, though Trial accounts will still have restrictions in-game.

History

===The Early Years===

[[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] was the first server to emerge on Graal, and as a result, has since gathered a strong reputation amongst oldbies.

For a long time, under Tyhm's management, the server slowly evolved with interesting new ideas such as 'races', where players gained attributes of their chosen race; for example, the Zorbi race could trap other players inside bubbles in order to escape a battle, though, in the end these races were removed after players complained of 'unfairness' between them.

As time passed, a storyline and cut scenes were integrated into the server, and the overworld was molded to fit more cleanly together, eventually shaping the [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] world into a series of islands. These changes were prompted by the influx of new players and the new ability to make mapped levels, which allowed players to see nearby levels as if they were part of one large area. To appease some of the older players who were unhappy with these changes, a quest was formed which took an early version of [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] and was placed into a 'museum'.

===The Middle Ages===

By mid-2003, Classic was brimming with content, with some 7000 levels on the server. While this was great for the players, especially those with a tendency to explore, Tyhm and his development team were finding it increasingly difficult to convert everything for the soon-to-launch NPC-Server technology, which was required of all servers.

In March 2004, due to other commitments, Tyhm left the management of Classic, and after a brief period of anarchy, Stefan stepped in, appointing a new manager, Master Storm, on the 7th of April. Storm made it his primary focus to get the NPC-Server released, as it was by now some many years overdue. Due to various circumstances, especially the difficulty with converting everything, Storm decided to instead rebuild Classic from scratch, focusing on getting compatibility with the NPC-Server at a core level, and expanding the server with content later.

===Post NPC-Server Classic===

On January 6th, 2005, the NPC-Server launched for [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]]. This came somewhat early in the development of Storm's “New [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]]”, but was pretty much forced, since support for old-style [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] GServer was being removed. It is fair to say that the server was rushed in order to meet this deadline, and that this has had large impact on quality. Not long after, GScript 2 was introduced, and this further delayed progress, as time had to be dedicated to meeting this new standard rather than to the creation of content.

Since the introduction of the NPC-Server. up until the present day, [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] has been using custom systems for things such as movement and hit detection. While these have been designed to closely emulate the built-in systems of Graal, by using custom movement, many interesting opportunities arise. The custom movement also allows more subtle tweaks, such as allowing for a greater range of player movement speeds, and the ability to make various bug fixes.

More controversial was the rewritten hit detection. It initially was written to calculate the hit detection entirely serverside, as opposed to the clientside, which many were accustomed to. This choice to use serverside hit detection greatly improved security but had been controversial with the players, most notably the sparring and PKing fraternity, as they had had to adjust to the much different lag behavior. Consequently, this has since been changed to custom clientside hit detection.

This era of the server saw a massive expansion of the overworld, but it was to little avail, as there wasn't a great deal of progress made in terms of questing content which has historically provided the server with its identity. Unfortunately, the overworld largely empty and provided little incentive for exploration. The custom systems, while a sound concept, suffered from a lack of organization and abstraction. As they grew in size from their initial rushed foundations, they had become difficult to work with, which slowed down the creation of new content.

In February 2009, Thor was promoted from his position of Development Administrator to co-manage the server with Master Storm due to his previous releases of questing content as well as reorganization of existing content. DarkCloud took direct control of Development in Thor's place, however, attempts to move forward with the server were, for various reasons, unsuccessful.

There remained a close-knit community from 2005 to 2009, these years largely occupied by interaction-based gameplay such as events, sparring, and guild activity. But gradually, as the older players left and fewer new players became interested in the server, by June 2009, the player count had dropped down to virtually nothing.

At this point, due to a very negative feeling surrounding the server, DarkCloud decided to step down from his position as Development Administrator, leaving the server management a major decision to be made as to which direction the server should take.

===Classic's Redevelopment===

Master Storm and Thor were both in agreement that the best route to take regarding the server would be to remove the existing content and repeat the process of remaking it from the ground up. However, this time the reconstruction would be carried out as a hidden server to focus on development and be fully prepare for maintaining a high player count in future, rather than get distracted by the politics that staff had previously been engulfed by, or by keeping existing players occupied.

Planning and preparations commenced and eventually the wipe was completed on the 31st July 2009. At this point, although the server was hidden, it was to remain publicly accessible for old or interested players to see the work in progress. While the new custom systems were being developed, the players were using the built-in Graal systems to give the development team the time to build the custom system with more care and organization. The new systems were implemented as early as October, which was considerably quicker than the previous systems had taken to make between 2005 and 2006. It was within this time that the decision was made for Master Storm to step down as the server's manager, leaving the responsibility lying solely in Thor's hands. However, Master Storm continued to help with the system and networking side of development.

While things such as quest resources, storyline planning and further system construction were being worked on, a new-and-improved spar arena for visitors to enjoy was released, and was soon followed by the construction of a “team events system” with the ambitious goal of handling, rapidly remaking, and improving all future team-based events such as Capture The Flag and Battlegrounds.

It wasn't until August 2010 that [[Worlds/Classic|Classic]] saw the release of its starter content, which had the purpose of acting like a tutorial to new players, but in a more enjoyable fashion and integrated into the storyline, as opposed to isolating them from the overworld and other players, as had been felt in previous versions of the server.

==Gameplay==

Varia is a "Modified-Classic" Server, dealing with teamwork and saving the land from an antagonist that is just referred to as 'The Darkness'. Varia has a story line and for the first 8 Dungeons it's pretty linear but afterward the player will be able to somewhat develop they're own story. Storyline of Varia starts out as this.

==Storyline==

In the beginning, there was a solemn void, Soon out of this void, there was thunderous clash, Chaos and Darkness soon ensued the void. Many Millenias passed and the Chaos and Darkness seemed to be in a constant feud. Soon this would change.

A flash of knowledge and insight came upon the Chaos and it settled into our current universe. Order and peace came within the newly formed dimension.
Powers of the universe sire a son. This King of the Universe alone shall bring order to the remaining Darkness. Perilously he entered into the Dark Vortex. Deep into the heart of the battle he fought. Soon The Darkness Converged on him. As time passed, the Powers of the Universe feared him lost. The Darkness then vanished in a blinding flash of rage fury. The kings blood stained weapons were proof of his conquest. None know what happened in The Darkness, but the King was forever changed.

The Powers of The Universe seeing this as a time of peace and prosperity set forth galaxies across the universe. Stars, planets, and life soon formed. The king looked upon these creations with sadness and pity. He drew all of his strength together and separated himself from the Universe once and for all. All remained were his armor and weapons, only his powers were still enchanting his items. No other trace of himself did he leave.
His items were then separated onto several planets, were they were enshrined and are honored for his great deed he did before time itself.
Time passed and his shrines were desecrated, he was forgotten and left alone in the past. Nowadays many search for this shrine in hope of bestowing upon themselves The King's mighty power.
